Trend Alert, Fringing…. Adriana Lindo

Fringing is going to be one of the star trends in the next spring/summer season. Out of all the looks on show in the international catwalks last September it was the main attraction: from Proenza Schouler to Alberta Ferretti, including Etro or Emilio Pucci, amongst others. Luckily, as it is one of the most flexible fashion trends in our wardrobe, it´s not necessary to wait until next year to show it off, because we have more than enough options to enjoy it this winter.

Even though at first sight you may think that fringing is not for you or you may not dare to wear it, it really adapts itself to a range of garments with completely contrasting styles. We can find fringing in neutral color dresses, adding that elegant and sophisticated touch, as well as in vibrant pieces – giving them that fun and casual look. You can also use it with ethnic garments – to get that hippy and relaxed style – or even with clothes with a much more classic appearance, like this leather jacket. It can modernize those garments, even taking the seriousness out of the most classic ones. So, it is incredibly easy for you to find a piece of clothing with fringing that can adapt to your style whether it´s this winter or next spring. Fringing will invade every single shop!

Making the best of the warm days that the beginning of the autumn has given us, I have opted to combine this beautiful black leather jacket – a timeless classic (haven´t  we all had one?) – with an ethnic midi skirt and a pair of white Converse, to play down the country touch. But as from now on it´s going to be almost impossible to wear a skirt with no tights again, I recommend you adapt it to the autumn/winter. But how? In a very simple way: simply wear a pair of thick black tights and Chelsea ankle boots or cowboy boots – depending on what makes you feel more comfortable – and your outfit will be perfect.

As you can see, the fringing in this leather jacket doesn´t completely take over the look but it brings it up to date and gives it a “wild west” touch, making it very special. As far as the skirt goes, fringing is perfect for it because, with its ethnic floral print, it adds that relaxed but sophisticated touch. As the fringing is sufficiently eye-catching on its own, I would recommend combining it with more basic garments like the vest I´m wearing in the pictures or with a pair of cigarette pants; as it catches all the attention, you don´t need to overdo it with anything else.

Are you going to adapt to this trend? What do you think about it?

I hope you have liked this look and you will enjoy a great weekend.
